On September 22, 1991, Deacon Solomon Fields confessed his call to preach the Gospel; on October 27, 1991, he preached his first sermon. This was by no means a self-appointment or choice of his own, but rather a commandment from the LORD, “Preach or Perish.” The details of how the Lord convinced him to preach are too numerous to mention here.
On February 25, 1994, Reverend Solomon Fields was called to be the Pastor of Saint John Baptist Church of Lubbock, Texas. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Reverend Solomon Fields accepted this position as Pastor and leader of the church family. During the past twenty-nine years, the Word of God has been proclaimed, and the church family has moved to higher heights in the Lord.
Pastor Fields serves as 2nd Vice President of the Lovely Sunset Baptist District Association Congress of Christian Education. He is also Vice President of the Lubbock Area Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Lubbock, Texas.
The Lord Jesus has graciously allowed Pastor Fields to proclaim the Word of God on numerous occasions, such as the State Congress and State Convention of Texas, District Congress and Association, Citywide MLK services, revivals, banquets, KJAK radio, and a host of pastor-wife and church annual days. The Lord’s kindness has extended preaching opportunities in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Midland / Odessa, Sweetwater, Plainview cities, and other towns in the West Texas area. For these precious opportunities, we are most appreciative of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He resides in Lubbock, Texas, with his wife of 45 years, Louise Fields. He has one daughter, LaTina Fields, who resides in Midland, Texas.
